In the 1990s, as a result of the initiation of a formal process of reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians by the Federal Parliament, people from all sections of the community were inspired to organise activities which brought Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians together.
As the involvement of ordinary Australians spread across the land, it became known as the People's Reconciliation Movement.
They share the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation's VISION of:
A united Australia which respects this land of ours, honours the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and provides justice and equity for all.
